Travelworld warns Australian consumers to be on guard against an alleged American travel scam using the same name as our Australian-based retail agency network. Representatives of the American company are calling consumers and claiming that they have won a holiday. The caller then ask for credit card details to cover various taxes, fees or charges related to the holiday prize. Travelworld has made numerous attempts to make contact with the company and all have failed. Travelworld agencies operating throughout Australia are in no way related to this scam. Travelworld is not conducting consumer promotions of any kind and warn consumers to be extremely careful with their credit card details and to remain cautious if anyone telephones them claiming that they have won an overseas holiday.
